Meet Jitterbug, a striking Phidippus regius from the Apalachicola locality — a newly introduced bloodline to the UK. Jitterbug is a confident little chap with a calm temperament and a habit of stopping to study you closely, those bright green chelicerae flashing whenever curiosity gets the better of him.

Jitterbug is currently at i7 and is a confirmed male, feeding confidently (he's partial to a greenbottle caster) and well established. This particular spider was not bred in-house at Opus Vita, but has been sourced from one of our trusted and reputable UK breeder partners, who we are proud to work alongside.

We are always careful when introducing spiders bred outside of Opus Vita, and Jitterbug has been selected for his health, condition, and temperament. As with all spiders we rehome, we’re happy to offer ongoing support and guidance.
